Our DNA

OUR STORY

You’re joining us at an incredible moment in the life of our church, but to truly appreciate where we are now, it’s always essential to reflect on where it all began. Zion Baptist Church, affectionately known as Zion Cincinnati, is the second oldest historically African American Baptist congregation in the amazing city of Cincinnati. Organized in 1842, Zion has amassed a rich history evangelism, discipleship, and social justice engagement. Located in the heart of the Avondale community, our journey has allowed us to engaged the city and our community with the gospel, reaching generations with a Christian witness.
As a Bible-based church, led by Pastor Z.M.D. McGregor, affectionately known as Pastor Z, we have entered into a new season that is centered on the gospel message and mission of connecting people to Christ and community.  We are committed to loving the people of Cincinnati, and being a place of hope, restoration, and life for all who step into our space. We wholeheartedly believe that God loves Cincinnati, He is changing our city, and we are praying, and laboring to be instrumental in revival breaking out in our homes, schools, and work places. For this reason, our entire reason for existing can be summoned up by Who We Are, What We're Doing, and Who We're Reaching.
